Properties: Dark blue or bluish violet crystals. Relative density 3.52 (25℃), melting point 275℃, boiling point 346.7℃. Easily soluble in carbon disulfide, soluble in ethyl ether, ethanol, benzene, carbon tetrachloride. Easily decomposed by hot water, oxidized by oxygen in the air and transformed into tungsten oxychloride or tungsten oxide when heated.

Usage: Used in tungsten plating by vapour phase deposition, also used to make single crystal tungsten wire, glass surface conductive layers and olefin polymerization catalysts. Also used in the purification of tungsten and organic synthesis. Applied in pesticide intermediates, petroleum catalysts, intelligent glass and other industries.
