  Physical and chemical properties: stable, flammable. Incompatible with strong oxidant and alkali. Colorless to light yellow liquid with a coconut-like odor. Melting point -9.5℃. Boiling point 276℃. The relative density is 1.0399. Refractive index 1.4583. Flash point 110℃. Insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether. It is miscible with acetone. It's stimulating.
  Uses: Used as a solvent, can also be used in the synthesis of flame retardant tri (dodecyl mercaptan) antimony, antioxidant dodecyl mercaptan, surfactant dodecyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride (Geramine), benzalammonium bromide, can also be used in the synthesis of other chemical substances, such as reagents and catalysts in organic synthesis.
